Yoga in Carmarthen

I shall be hosting yoga classes in Carmarthen, to help people find inner peace, flexibility and poise. Yoga has been an integral part of my life for over 20 years, evolving with me through various stages. When my children were young, my practice became a delightful challenge, often interrupted by their playful antics. Despite the chaos, I found even the briefest moments on the mat essential for my well-being.

Before motherhood, I often returned home from long days at work feeling drained and reluctant to practice. However, I learned the importance of simply starting—even if it was just for a few poses. Each time, I emerged feeling more in flow, balanced, and relaxed. This is the essence of yoga: creating a personal practice that suits your life and brings you joy.

Anyone can do it

Yoga is accessible to everyone, and you don't need to master complicated poses to reap its benefits. For me, it's about discovering stretches that I resonate with and practicing them consistently. This daily routine allows your body to release tension, blockages, and facilitates healing. It's important to recognise that you cannot expect your body, mind, and spirit to be in unison without allowing yourself the time and space to feel balanced.

Think about your daily habits—what you do every day shapes who you are and how you feel. I encourage you to explore movements that bring you joy. Stretch, strengthen, move, dance, and smile! Integrating these movements into your life will cultivate well-being, happiness, and balance.

Yin Yoga Principles and Practice by Paul Grilley

As American philosopher William James posited a century ago, there's a profound connection between mind and body. Relaxing your body while attempting to evoke anger reveals the impossibility of separating our physical state from our emotional experiences. Every thought and emotion leaves its mark on our physical being.

Learning to relax in various poses enables us to identify and release deep-seated tensions—not just in our muscles but throughout our entire being. By focusing on areas like the eyes, jaw, heart, and diaphragm, we can cultivate a healthy habit of dissolving negative tensions that accumulate in our bodies over time. This practice is essential for achieving holistic wellness, which yoga beautifully fosters.

I also offer massage in Carmarthen at my own private studio in the town centre.

Get in touch if you would like to book a massage or if you are interested in a regular yoga class.
